A professional contract signed on 8 August 2020 marked the formal entry of Ziyad Mubarak Eid Al-Marwani Al-Johani into the first team at Al-Ahli. Born in Jeddah on 11 November 2001, the midfielder developed through the youth ranks of the club before transitioning into senior-level competition within the Saudi Arabian football system.

Early Development and Club Breakthrough

Al-Johani began his football career within the youth infrastructure of Al-Ahli. Following the 2019–20 season resumption after the COVID-19 pandemic, he received his inaugural call-up to the first team. His professional debut occurred on 30 May 2021 during a league fixture against Al-Ettifaq. To secure his long-term future with the organization, Al-Johani signed a contract extension on 24 July 2022 that maintains his registration with the club through the 2025–26 season.

Domestic and International Honours

During his tenure at Al-Ahli, the midfielder contributed to several significant titles. His domestic trophy cabinet includes the Saudi First Division League title for the 2022–23 season and the Saudi Super Cup in 2025. Additionally, he participated in the successful campaigns that yielded the AFC Champions League Elite titles in the 2024–25 and 2025–26 seasons. On the international front, his youth career with the Saudi Arabia U23 team was highlighted by victories in both the 2022 AFC U-23 Asian Cup and the 2022 WAFF U-23 Championship.

National Team Participation

Al-Johani gained international experience beyond the age-group level through the Maurice Revello Tournament in France during June 2023. His progression within the national setup led to a call-up for the senior squad. Throughout 2025, he recorded nine appearances for the Saudi Arabia men's national football team. These contributions included participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, representing the culmination of his development as a professional athlete.
