After departing Greece in 2000, Vryzas played in the Italian Serie A and Serie B. He competed for various sides, including a loan spell at Celta Vigo in 2004 and a move to Torino in early 2006. In the summer of 2006, he returned to Skoda Xanthi before signing a two-year contract with PAOK in 2007. His final appearance for the club occurred on 6 January 2008, where he received a standing ovation from supporters.

Vryzas made his debut for the Greece national team in October 1994 during a Euro 1996 qualifier against Finland.
