Motaz Hassan Ali Hawsawi began his professional football career in Jeddah, eventually establishing himself as a significant figure in Saudi Arabian defensive play. Throughout a tenure spanning over a decade, he maintained a consistent presence both within domestic league competition and on the international stage while competing for his national side.
Early Career and Domestic Success
The defender spent the majority of his professional life with Al-Ahli. During his time with the club, he contributed to several major achievements, including securing the 2014–15 Saudi Crown Prince Cup and winning the 2015–16 Saudi Professional League title. His tenure at Al-Ahli also included victories in the 2016 King Cup and the 2016 Saudi Super Cup, cementing his status as a key member of the squad.

Hawsawi played for the Saudi Arabia national team between 2012 and 2018. His involvement with the national setup included participating in the 2015 AFC Asian Cup, hosted in Melbourne, Australia. In May 2018, he earned a selection for the preliminary squad representing Saudi Arabia at the FIFA World Cup in Russia. By the conclusion of his international involvement on 25 June 2018, he had recorded 21 total appearances for the men's national team.
Transition to New Clubs
Following his lengthy period at Al-Ahli, Hawsawi transitioned to different clubs to continue his career. On 11 January 2022, he completed a free transfer to join Al-Taawoun, where he made 6 appearances. Subsequently, he moved to the Saudi First Division League to sign with Ohod on 12 September 2023, committing to a one-year agreement with the team.
