Mostafa Ziko

Egyptian association football player

The nickname Mostafa Ziko uses throughout his career in Egyptian football stems from his father's admiration for the Brazilian player Zico. Born in 1997 in the Monufia Governorate, he began his professional journey with Gomhoriat Shebin before developing into a versatile attacking threat capable of playing as a winger, attacking midfielder, or centre-forward across the top tier of Egyptian domestic competition.

Early Career and Haras El Hodoud

Before his rise to prominence, Ziko worked at a family clothing shop in Shibin El Kom following the death of his father. He joined Haras El Hodoud in 2019, eventually showcasing his talent during the 2022–23 Egyptian Premier League season. Despite playing for a side battling relegation, he gained attention by winning the man of the match award seven times, a record for that campaign. He notably questioned a 40 million Egyptian pound release clause set by his club, though his performances solidified his status as an effective winger.
