Early Professional Trajectory
Born in 1982, Riveros began his football activities with the local side Cristobal Colón. He subsequently gained experience with San Lorenzo and Tacuary before joining Libertad. In May 2010, Riveros signed a three-year contract with Sunderland in the English Premier League. He debuted on 14 August 2010 against Birmingham City. Throughout his time in England, he appeared in 14 league matches, scoring once during a 3–0 win over West Ham United. Following this period, he moved to the Turkish Süper Lig to join Kayserispor, initially on a season-long loan before finalizing a permanent transfer in May 2012.
Return to Paraguay and Recent Years
Riveros joined Grêmio in June 2013 on a two-year deal before returning to Paraguay to sign with Club Olimpia Asunción in 2015. His influence proved pivotal in the team securing their 40th local championship title. Following his time at Olimpia, he returned to Libertad in 2017, then moved to Nacional Asunción in 2020. In January 2022, he rejoined Libertad for a third stint under the management of coach Daniel Garnero, playing alongside teammates Oscar Cardozo and Roque Santa Cruz.
International Participation
Entering the national setup in 2005, Riveros participated in the 2006 and 2010 FIFA World Cup tournaments.
