Early Career and Barcelona Breakthrough
Born in Sabadell in 1991, Tello began his football education at CFU Can Rull before joining FC Barcelona. Following a loan period at CF Damm, he moved to RCD Espanyol in 2008. He returned to Barcelona in 2010 to compete for Barcelona Atlètic. His first-team debut occurred on 9 November 2011 in a Copa del Rey match against L'Hospitalet. His tenure in Portugal included notable performances in the Champions League, such as his contribution to the win against BATE Borisov, and a hat-trick against Sporting CP in March 2015. In 2016, he transitioned to Italy on a loan move to Fiorentina, where he debuted in Serie A against Carpi and registered his first league goal in a win over Atalanta.
Real Betis and Overseas Stints
Tello signed with Real Betis in 2017 for €4 million. Across 172 appearances, he recorded 24 goals, including a significant winner against Real Madrid in 2020. He was part of the squad that secured the 2022 Copa del Rey. Following his Betis departure, he joined Los Angeles FC, where he participated in the 2022 MLS Cup victory. His final professional years included contracts with Saudi Pro League clubs Al-Fateh and Al-Orobah, followed by a move to the UAE side Palm City before his 2026 retirement.
International Representation
Tello featured for the Spanish national squad at the 2012 London Olympics, participating in all three group matches. He was also a member of the under-21 team that won the European Championship in 2013.
