Early Development and Boca Juniors
Born on 5 February 1984, Tevez was raised in the Fuerte Apache neighbourhood, earning his distinctive nickname. He began his professional career with Boca Juniors in 2001, quickly becoming a central figure in the squad. His tenure at the club included victories in the 2003 Copa Libertadores and the 2003 Intercontinental Cup. His arrival in England with West Ham United in 2006 preceded a controversial tenure at Manchester United, where he helped the team secure two Premier League titles and a UEFA Champions League trophy. In 2009, he moved to Manchester City, earning the Premier League Golden Boot in 2011. He later spent time at Juventus in Italy, where he was named Serie A Footballer of the Year in 2015, before completing his playing career with stints at Shanghai Shenhua and a final return to Boca Juniors.
International Representation
Tevez debuted for the Argentina national team in 2004, the same year he secured a gold medal at the Summer Olympics, where he also claimed the Golden Boot. Throughout his international career, he earned 76 caps and scored 13 goals. He represented his country in two FIFA World Cup tournaments and four Copa América competitions. He officially retired from professional football in June 2022.
