Early Development and LDU Quito
Tenorio began his path in the professional ranks with LDU Quito. During the 2001 season, his performance proved instrumental in the club's promotion from the Ecuadorian Serie B to Serie A, a campaign highlighted by his 11 league goals. By 2003, he secured a domestic Serie A title with the organization.

Representing the Ecuador national team from 2001 to 2009, Tenorio featured in two FIFA World Cup tournaments. During the 2006 event, he scored goals against Poland and Costa Rica. These contributions were vital to Ecuador's progression into the second round of the competition.
Global Club Stints
Following his time in Ecuador, Tenorio played for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia, recording 15 goals across 16 appearances. He subsequently joined the Qatari club Al Sadd in 2003, where he played until 2009. His later career included stints with the United Arab Emirates club Al-Nasr and the Emirati side Alshariqa, where he managed 23 goals in 25 appearances. Upon returning to South America, he played for Vasco da Gama in Brazil and participated in the Bolivian Primera División with Bolívar, a team that topped the league in the 2014–15 season. His final tenure included a return to Quito in 2016 and a closing appearance with Atlético Saquisilí.
