Achieving a career-high ranking of world No. 3 in August 2021, Stefanos Tsitsipas stands as the highest-ranked Greek male tennis player in history. Born in Athens in 1998, he transitioned from a dominant junior career to securing 13 ATP Tour singles titles, consistently remaining a prominent competitor within the global top ten rankings.
Early Tennis Development
Born to parents who were both tennis instructors at the Astir Palace resort in Vouliagmeni, Tsitsipas was exposed to the sport from infancy. His father, Apostolos, and his mother, Julia Salnikova, provided a specialized foundation for his development. He began taking formal lessons at the Tennis Club Glyfada at age six. By 2015, he expanded his training to the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy in France, balancing his time between Athens and his international training base to refine his professional game.
