Rajinikanth (born 1950) is an Indian actor, film producer and screenwriter. He was born in Bengaluru on 12 December 1950.

Rajinikanth was awarded Filmfare Awards South, Padma Bhushan (2000), Padma Vibhushan (2016), Tamil Nadu State Film Awards and Dadasaheb Phalke Award (2019). He was educated at Adyar Film Institute and Acharya Pathasala Public School.
Rajinikanth was the son of Ramoji Rao Gaekwad and Jijabai Shahaji Bhosale. He married Latha Rajinikanth. He had two recorded children, Aishwarya R. Dhanush and Soundarya Rajinikanth. He is recorded as following Hinduism.
