Born in Daegu in 1985, Park attended Daegu Banyawol Elementary School, Cheonggu Middle School, and Cheonggu High School. During his debut professional season in 2005, Park scored 18 goals in 30 appearances across all competitions. His performance helped propel FC Seoul's average home attendance to 25,478. In 2008, he moved to Monaco, where he remained for three seasons, scoring 25 goals in 91 Ligue 1 matches. He joined the English club Arsenal in 2011, though his time there was limited, resulting in only seven competitive appearances and loan spells at Celta Vigo and Watford.
International Representation
Park earned 68 caps for the South Korean senior national team between 2005 and 2014, netting 24 goals. He competed in the 2006, 2010, and 2014 FIFA World Cups, scoring in the 2010 tournament during a match against Nigeria.
