Park Geun-hye

President of South Korea from 2013 to 2017

Park Geun-hye (born 1952) is the President of South Korea from 2013 to 2017. She was born in Daegu on 2 February 1952.

The public offices recorded are President of South Korea (2013–2017), First Lady of South Korea (1974–1979), Member of the National Assembly of South Korea (in 2012) and Member of the National Assembly of South Korea (2008–2012).

The honours on record include honorary degree (1987), Grand Cross with Collar of the Order of the Sun of Peru (2015), Grand Order of Mugunghwa (2013), Honorary Knight Grand Cross of the Order of the Bath (2013) and honorary degree (2008). Park appeared at World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2014 and APEC Indonesia 2013. She studied at Sogang University (bachelor's degree), Grenoble Alpes University and Jangchung Elementary School.

Park was the daughter of Park Chung-hee and Yuk Young-soo. She is recorded as following atheism.
