Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala (born 1954) is a Nigerian director-General of the World Trade Organization. Okonjo was born in Ogwashi-Uku on 13 June 1954.
The public offices recorded are Minister of Finance of Nigeria (2003–2006), Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria (in 2006), managing director (2007–2011) and Minister of Finance of Nigeria (2011–2015). Okonjo worked in economics, economics of banking and bank management. She was attached to World Bank Group.
The honours on record include honorary doctorate from Brown University, honorary doctor of Amherst College and BBC 100 Women (2017). Okonjo took part in World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2014, World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2013, World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2016 and World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2017. She was elected to Global Financial Integrity, World Resources Institute and American Academy of Arts and Sciences. She was educated at Harvard University (bachelor's degree), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Doctor of Philosophy) and MIT School of Architecture and Planning.
Okonjo was the daughter of Chukuka Okonjo. She married Ikemba Iweala. She had one recorded child, Uzodinma Iweala.
