Najmul Hossain Shanto

Bangladeshi cricketer

A 341-run opening partnership during the 2017–18 National Cricket League marked the professional emergence of Najmul Hossain Shanto, a top-order batter from Rajshahi. Since his international debut in 2017, he has become a fixture in the Bangladesh national side, transitioning from a promising domestic talent to a central figure in the country's multi-format captaincy structure.

Foundations in Rajshahi

Shanto developed his skills at the Clemon Rajshahi Cricket Academy, located nearly 20 kilometres from his home. His daily commitment to training involved a combination of walking and cycling to reach the facility. He first drew domestic attention during the 2016–17 Bangladesh Premier League with the Comilla Victorians and later established records in the National Cricket League, where his partnership with Mizanur Rahman remains a domestic first-class milestone.
