Najma Chowdhury

Bangladeshi academic

Najma Chowdhury (1942–2021) was a Bangladeshi university teacher and political scientist. Chowdhury was born in Sylhet on 26 February 1942. She died in Dhaka on 8 August 2021, at the age of 79.

Chowdhury worked in political science and gender studies. She was attached to University of Dhaka and University of Minnesota. The active career dates from 1968.

The honours on record include Ekushey Padak and Victoria Schuck Award (1995). Chowdhury was educated at University of Dhaka and SOAS, University of London.
