Morris made his American debut in 2005 as Owen Matthews in the slasher film Cry Wolf. This pivot toward the US market continued with a role in the 2006 drama Whirlygirl and the 2008 independent horror feature Donkey Punch, which gained visibility at the Sundance Film Festival. His portfolio during this decade also included appearances in the historical drama Valkyrie, the slasher film Sorority Row, and a recurring role as Agent Owen in the series 24.

The actor became a familiar presence on television through series regular roles on My Generation, Pretty Little Liars as Dr. Wren Kingston, and Hand of God as Reverend Paul Curtis.
