Imanol Uribe

The 1994 thriller Running Out of Time earned Imanol Uribe both the Goya Award for Best Director and the Goya Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. Born in San Salvador on 28 February 1950 to parents from Biscay, Uribe relocated at age seven to the Basque region, eventually establishing a professional career within the Spanish film industry as a director, screenwriter, actor, producer, and editor.

Uribe moved from El Salvador to Biscay as a child. He pursued formal academic training by earning a licentiate degree in journalism. Following his university studies, he enrolled at the Escuela Oficial de Cine.
