A 1-0 loss against SHB Đà Nẵng at Hòa Xuân Stadium on 2 July 2023 marked the league debut for goalkeeper Filip Nguyen with his new club, Công An Hà Nội. Born in 1992 in Czechoslovakia to a Vietnamese father and a Czech mother, the professional footballer holds citizenship in both the Czech Republic and Vietnam.
Early Development and Czech Club Experience
Nguyen began his association football career within the youth systems of Loko Vltavín and Sparta Prague, joining the latter in 2012. By 20 October 2013, he was named as an unused substitute for a Czech First League match against Dukla Prague. After departing Sparta in 2015 for SK Union Čelákovice, he transitioned to the Czech National Football League, joining Vlašim in 2016. He debuted professionally for that side against Karviná on 26 March, eventually totaling forty-two appearances over three seasons. In 2018, he moved to Slovan Liberec on a contract running until 2021, and during the 2022–23 campaign, he recorded the highest number of clean sheets in the Czech First League.

In June 2023, Nguyen signed a three-year contract with V.League 1 side Công An Hà Nội. His arrival coincided with a period of domestic success for the organization, as the team secured the V.League 1 title in his first season. His performance throughout the 2025–26 season resulted in his inclusion in the V.League 1 Team of the Season.
International Representation
Nguyen’s international eligibility allowed him to represent either the Czech Republic or Vietnam. In September 2020, he received a call-up to the Czech national squad for a UEFA Nations League match against Scotland, necessitated by personnel changes following positive SARS-CoV-2 tests. However, he ultimately pursued naturalization in Vietnam, a process that concluded on 6 December 2023. Shortly after obtaining his citizenship, he was named to the provisional squad for the 2023 AFC Asian Cup. He debuted for Vietnam in a friendly against Kyrgyzstan on 9 January 2024 and subsequently appeared in all three of the country's matches during the tournament finals. He also contributed to a victory in the 2024 ASEAN Championship.
