Three individual Asian Snooker Championship titles define the competitive record of Amir Sarkhosh, an Iranian cue sports athlete from Karaj. Born on 30 May 1991, he established himself through decades of international participation, transitioning from a regular amateur contender into a consistent presence within professional ranking tournaments and high-level regional competitions since beginning his career in 2004.

Early Development and Amateur Progression

Sarkhosh started competing in international snooker events in 2004. By 2008, he reached the main round of the Amateur World Championship and the quarter-finals of the under-21 Asian Championship. His ascent continued through the 2010s, marked by appearances in the 6-Red Asian Championship, where he secured his first international title in 2014 against Boonyarit Keattikun, following runner-up finishes against Muhammad Asif and Xiao Guodong.

Team Successes

Collaboration proved highly effective for Sarkhosh, particularly in regional team formats. Alongside partner Soheil Vahedi, he secured the Asian Team Championship in 2015 and 2016, as well as the IBSF World Team Cup in 2016. The duo previously finished second in the 2013 IBSF World Team Cup. In 2017, he earned a gold medal in the team snooker event at the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games while playing alongside Hossein Vafaei.

Championship Titles and Professional Entry

Sarkhosh claimed his first Asian Snooker Championship in 2018 by defeating Ali Gharahgozlou. He added further titles in 2022 by beating Ishpreet Singh Chadha and again the following year, matching the record set by James Wattana. Beyond standard snooker, he secured the 6-Red Asian Championship title three times. In 2024, he entered the professional tour, recording qualification victories over David Lilley for the International Championship and David Gilbert for the 2025 World Open.
