Ali Akbar Salehi (born 1949) is an Iranian politician, university teacher and diplomat. He was born in Karbala on 24 March 1949.
Ali Akbar Salehi served as Foreign Affairs Minister of Iran (2010–2013), Vice President as Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (2013–2021) and Vice President as Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (2009–2010). He worked in nuclear engineering and nuclear physics. He was attached to Sharif University of Technology and Imam Khomeini International University.
Ali Akbar Salehi was awarded Nature's 10 (2015), Order of Courage and Order of Service. He studied at American University of Beirut and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
