The career of Abdelhamid Sabiri shifted across international borders beginning with his relocation from Goulmima to Frankfurt at the age of three. A professional association football midfielder, he has represented both Germany at the youth level and Morocco at the senior international level, eventually contributing to the Moroccan national squad during the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Early Development and German Clubs

Before his rise to senior football, Sabiri refined his skills within the youth setups of TuS Koblenz and Darmstadt 98. His professional trajectory gained momentum at Sportfreunde Siegen in the German fifth tier, where he tallied 20 goals and six assists in 33 appearances. This performance facilitated a 2016 move to 1. FC Nürnberg. Initially assigned to the second team, he earned promotion to the first team in January 2017, where he netted five goals in nine appearances within the 2. Bundesliga.

European Journeys

On 23 August 2017, Sabiri signed a three-year contract with Huddersfield Town. His tenure in the Premier League included a debut against West Ham on 11 September 2017, though his time in England was constrained by recurring physical injuries. He departed the club on 27 August 2019. Subsequently, he spent time with SC Paderborn, Ascoli in Italy, and Sampdoria. His move to Serie A club Sampdoria in early 2022 included a conditional purchase obligation, leading to a later transfer to Fiorentina in January 2023.

International Transition

Sabiri initially played for Germany at the under-21 level, participating in five matches and scoring once against the Netherlands. By April 2022, he expressed intent to represent Morocco. His debut for the Moroccan national team followed in September 2022 during a friendly match against Chile at the RCDE Stadium in Barcelona, where he scored in a 2-0 victory. Later that year, he was included in Morocco's 26-man squad for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. In recognition of his sporting achievements, he received the Officer of the Order of the Throne in 2022.

Recent Club Activity

Following his association with Fiorentina, Sabiri embarked on a series of loans. In September 2023, he joined Al-Fayha, where he scored a brace during his AFC Champions League debut against Pakhtakor. Subsequent loan spells moved him to the Ajman Club in September 2024, followed by a transfer to Al Taawoun in Saudi Arabia in January 2025. He currently plays as an attacking midfielder for the Süper Lig club Eyüpspor.
