Kenyan filmmaker

Wanuri Kahiu (born 1980) is a Kenyan screenwriter and film producer. She was born in Nairobi on 21 June 1980.

Wanuri Kahiu is best known for Rafiki.

The honours on record include OkayAfrica 100 Women (2018), Africa Movie Academy Awards, Cannes Film Festival Awards and OkayAfrica 100 Women (2019). Wanuri Kahiu took part in World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2018, World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2020 and the 2018 Cannes Film Festival. She was educated at University of California, Los Angeles and University of Warwick.
