Relocation and International Breakthrough
Before joining the Singaporean squad, Wang honed her skills in Japanese professional leagues. Seeking higher-level competitive opportunities, she utilized the Foreign Sports Talent Scheme to relocate to Singapore in December 2004. By 2007, she held full citizenship. Her inaugural appearance for Singapore on the ITTF Pro Tour occurred in June 2005 at the Korean Open, where she earned a silver medal in women’s doubles alongside Sun Beibei.

Wang’s career gained momentum in 2006 when she secured her first Pro Tour gold medal at the Japan Open in Yokohama, defeating the top-seeded Guo Yan. She followed this victory with another gold at the German Open in Bayreuth that same year. By 2007, she demonstrated her versatility by sweeping multiple titles, including team, doubles, and mixed doubles, at the Commonwealth Table Tennis Championships in Jaipur.
Olympic and World Achievements
At the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, Wang partnered with Feng Tianwei and Li Jiawei to win a silver medal in the team event. This achievement broke a 48-year medal drought for Singapore. In 2010, the same trio achieved a significant milestone by defeating China to win the Liebherr World Team Table Tennis Championships in Moscow. Wang later secured a bronze medal in the team event at the 2012 London Olympics before announcing her retirement from professional competition in August 2012.
