Rise in Professional Tennis
Born in Sydney in 1971, Woodbridge attended Woolooware High School before advancing through the junior ranks. He reached the finals of the Junior Australian Open in 1987 and 1989, as well as the Wimbledon junior final in 1989. In his professional career, he ascended to the world number one doubles ranking in July 1992. While primarily recognized for his prowess in doubles, he reached a career-high singles ranking of 19 in 1997 after advancing to the semifinals at Wimbledon.

The partnership between Woodbridge and Mark Woodforde yielded 61 ATP doubles titles, including 11 Grand Slam events. Following Woodforde’s retirement in 2000, Woodbridge teamed with Swedish player Jonas Björkman, securing five additional Grand Slam titles over four years. His final major doubles partnership was with Mahesh Bhupathi. Across his career, he won 16 Grand Slam men's doubles titles and six Grand Slam mixed doubles titles, finishing with over 10 million dollars in prize money.
Media and Coaching Transitions
Following his 2005 retirement from the tour, Woodbridge transitioned into broadcasting. He worked for the Seven Network from 2006 to 2018, covering events such as the Australian Open, Wimbledon, and the Rio Olympics. In 2018, he moved to the Nine Network to join the Wide World of Sports. Beyond broadcasting, he served as the Australian Davis Cup Team coach starting in 2009 and hosted programs including Tipping Point Australia and the travel show Postcards.
