Early Education and Professional Beginnings
Born in Mount Vernon in 1960, Godin attended Williamsville East High School before moving to higher education at Tufts University. There, he earned degrees in computer science and philosophy. He later completed an MBA at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. After leaving Spinnaker, Godin established Seth Godin Productions in a New York City studio apartment with a 20,000 dollar investment. He focused on book packaging before turning his attention toward the expanding internet sector. In 2006, he launched Squidoo, an information-sharing platform that grew to become one of the 500 most visited websites globally by July 2008. The platform was eventually sold to HubPages in 2014.
Writing and Educational Initiatives
Godin has authored numerous books concerning marketing, business strategy, and creative development, including Permission Marketing, The Dip, and Linchpin. His work has received recognition from the American Marketing Association and business publications. In 2015, he launched altMBA, an intensive four-week online workshop.
