A 1989 graduate of the National Research University of Electronic Technology, Sergey Revin transitioned from a career in ground-based engineering to the specialized field of human spaceflight. Based in Moscow, his professional trajectory encompasses roles as an engineer-physicist, a test cosmonaut, and a research contributor to the International Space Station program for nearly two decades.
Early Career and Education
Before his selection for cosmonaut training, Revin focused on mechanical and scientific production environments. He earned his qualification as an engineer-physicist from the Moscow Institute of Electronic Technology in 1989. Between 1989 and 1993, he worked in Kaliningrad for NPO IT, an organization specializing in measuring equipment. Following this period, he joined NPO-Energia, named for Sergei Korolev, serving as an engineer from August 1993 until his transition to the cosmonaut corps in April 1996.
