Born in Eskilstuna in 1985, Larsson began playing for his hometown club, IFK Eskilstuna. In 2001, he moved to Arsenal on a four-year professional contract at the age of 16. Larsson joined Birmingham City on a season-long loan in August 2006, later signing a permanent four-year deal for a £1 million fee in January 2007. During his five years at the club, he played a critical role in their 2011 League Cup victory, providing an assist in the final against Arsenal at Wembley. He experienced both promotion to and relegation from the Premier League twice while scoring significant goals, including a memorable solo effort against Sheffield Wednesday in 2007.
Sunderland and Career Conclusion
In 2011, Larsson joined Sunderland on a free transfer, reuniting with manager Steve Bruce. He remained with the club until 2017 before moving to Hull City for a single season in the EFL Championship. In 2018, he returned to Sweden to sign with AIK, contributing to their Allsvenskan title victory in 2018. He remained with the club until his retirement in 2022.
International Representation
