Early Development and Education
Raised in Samsun, Özyavuz completed his primary and high school education before entering the local media scene as a radio DJ under the name DJ Mic Check. His musical exposure was influenced by the African and Italian records held by his parents. Seeking further academic training, he relocated to Istanbul to attend Istanbul University, where he studied Persian language and literature. He graduated from the Faculty of Letters four years later.

His professional career began in 1998 with the founding of the group Kuvvetmira. He initially performed under the stage name Silahsız Kuvvet, appearing on the 1999 compilation Yeraltı Operasyonu. By 2004, he transitioned exclusively to the Sagopa Kajmer identity. This period saw the release of pivotal works including Bir Pesimistin Gözyaşları in 2003 and the 2005 album Romantizma. His composition work extended to cinema, notably providing the score for the 2004 film G.O.R.A.
Production and Industry Impact
In August 2005, he established his own production company, Melankolia Müzik, with fellow rapper Esen Güler, known as Kolera. The label provided a platform for his subsequent projects, including the 2006 compilation Kafile. His collaborative output with Kolera was significant, resulting in albums such as İkimizi Anlatan Bir Şey and Bendeki Sen. Throughout the 2010s, he maintained a consistent release schedule, producing studio albums such as Saydam Odalar, Kalp Hastası, Ahmak Islatan, and Kağıt Kesikleri.
