Ingrid Alexandra of Norway occupies the second position in the line of succession to the Norwegian throne. Born on 21 January 2004 at Rikshospitalet, she represents the fifth generation of the House of Glücksburg. As a member of the Norwegian royal family, she balances her official duties with an education focused on international relations and political economy.
Early Education and Development
The princess began her schooling at Sem Kindergarten in Asker before attending Jansløkka School. To enhance her fluency in English, she transferred to the Oslo International School in 2014. She subsequently completed her lower secondary education at Uranienborg School, where she participated in the student council. She continued her secondary studies at Elvebakken Upper Secondary School, graduating in April 2023. Following this, she served as a school assistant and environmental worker at Uranienborg School.

In January 2024, the princess commenced 12 months of mandatory military service as a conscript in the Combat Engineer Battalion within Brigade Nord. Stationed at Skjold camp in Øverbygd, she used the surname Alexandra during her training. By September 2024, she had advanced to serve as a gunner on a CV-90 infantry fighting vehicle. She eventually extended her commitment to 15 months, completing her service on 4 April 2025 with the rank of Private.
Royal Duties and Athletics
Her official engagements began in 2015 when she christened the lifeboat Elias. In 2016, she lit the cauldron for the II Winter Youth Olympics in Lillehammer. She maintains an interest in various sports, including skiing and kickboxing, and secured a gold medal in the junior women's final at the 2020 Norwegian surfing championship. She is a recipient of several honors, including the Knight Grand Cross of the Order of St. Olav and the Knight of the Order of the Elephant.
Higher Education
In August 2025, the princess enrolled at the University of Sydney to pursue a three-year Bachelor of Arts degree. Her curriculum focuses on political economy and international relations while residing on the Camperdown campus. In the summer of 2026, she began an exchange program at the University of Oslo, a shift necessitated by changes in her family's circumstances.
