Selected 171st overall in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, Pavel Datsyuk defied early scouting reports that dismissed his small frame. The Yekaterinburg native emerged from the farm clubs of the Russian system to become a defining two-way forward, ultimately securing his place in hockey history through his extensive trophy collection and elite defensive utility.
