Seling entered the professional music circuit in the mid-1990s, securing honors at the Steaua de cristal, Ursulețul de aur, and Armonia festivals. In 1997, she performed as an opening act for Joan Baez and launched her recording career. By 1998, she had released her English-language debut, Only Love, and was recognized as Woman of the Year by Avantaje magazine. Her work expanded in 1999 with the release of De dragoste, a collection composed by Nicu Alifantis.
