His administration focused on stabilizing the national economy, consolidating public finances, and implementing a strategy for state asset management. During the 2015 and 2016 migrant crisis, his government coordinated the transit of approximately half a million people across Slovenian territory in collaboration with non-governmental organizations and local authorities.
