Mirko Vučinić began his professional football journey at his hometown club, Sutjeska Nikšić, before securing a transfer to Italian side Lecce in 2000 at age sixteen. Early Development and Italian Breakthrough
Sporting director Pantaleo Corvino facilitated the move to Lecce, where Vučinić gained experience navigating the tiers of Italian football. His breakout campaign occurred during the 2004–05 season, during which he registered 19 goals in 28 Serie A appearances. This period included a notable hat-trick against Lazio on 1 May 2005. Subsequent injury issues hampered his progress, leading to a diminished output of nine goals over 31 matches in the following term.

Vučinić joined Roma on loan in August 2006 for €3.25 million, eventually signing a permanent deal that cost the club a total of €19 million. During his five seasons in Rome, he contributed to two Coppa Italia titles. He navigated tactical adjustments under coaches Luciano Spalletti and Claudio Ranieri, frequently playing as a left winger or a supporting striker. His time in Rome included significant goals in the UEFA Champions League, such as a decisive header against Real Madrid and strikes against Manchester United and Chelsea.
Success with Juventus and Move Abroad
In July 2011, Vučinić transferred to Juventus for a fee of €15 million on a four-year contract. His stint in Turin proved highly successful, as the team secured three consecutive Serie A titles. He became known for his capacity to score from distance, notably netting a 32-metre goal against Milan in March 2012. Following his time in Italy, he transitioned to Al Jazira in July 2014 for an undisclosed fee.
International Representation
Early in his career, Vučinić represented the Serbia and Montenegro under-21 national team. A physical injury prevented him from participating in the 2006 FIFA World Cup. Following the formal dissolution of the state union between Serbia and Montenegro in May 2006, he elected to represent his native Montenegro in international competitions. He currently serves as the manager of the Montenegro national team.
