The year 2007 established Kido as a major force in the sport. He and Setiawan claimed the World Championships title in Kuala Lumpur, defeating Jung Jae-sung and Lee Yong-dae. Their performance continued with wins at the World Cup in Yiyang, the China Super Series, and the Hong Kong Super Series. During the 2007 SEA Games in Thailand, he secured double gold in both the team and individual men's doubles events.

At the 2008 Summer Olympics, Kido and Setiawan secured the gold medal in a three-set match against Cai Yun and Fu Haifeng. Their success persisted through 2008 and 2009, with tournament victories including the Malaysia, Denmark, French, and Japan Super Series. Kido contributed to the Indonesian national team across multiple Thomas Cup and Sudirman Cup appearances. Beyond his own achievements, his siblings Bona Septano and Pia Zebadiah Bernadet also pursued professional badminton careers. On 14 June 2021, Kido died from a heart attack while playing in a friendly badminton match in Tangerang. He was buried at Kebon Nanas Cemetery.
