Kim Hyung-jun

South Korean singer and actor

Kim Hyung-jun launched his entertainment career on June 8, 2005, as the youngest member of the South Korean boy band SS501. Since his debut with the album Warning, he has transitioned into a multifaceted career spanning music, television acting, and character design, maintaining a significant presence in both the Korean and Japanese entertainment industries.

The Rise of SS501

As part of SS501, Kim contributed to a series of successful releases including the mini album Snow Prince and the studio album S.T 01 Now. In 2007, the group expanded into the Japanese market with the single Kokoro, leading to the Newcomer Award at the 2008 Japan Gold Disc Awards. During his time with the group, Kim also began writing lyrics for tracks such as Want It and Hey G.

Solo Career and Creative Ventures

After his contract with DSP Media expired in 2010, Kim signed with S-Plus Entertainment to pursue solo projects. He debuted as a soloist in March 2011 with the mini album My Girl and later released the album Escape. Beyond music, he and his brother Kim Kibum launched the design brand HnB, which introduced the character PiroPiro to represent the strain of modern office work.

Acting and Television Work

Kim expanded into theater and television, making his musical debut in Caffeine in 2011. He played his first lead role as Kang-min in the 2012 series My Shining Girl, followed by a role as Jung Min-chae in the drama Late Blossom. This performance earned him a Rising Star Award at the 2012 K-Drama Star Awards, adding to his later accolades such as the Fashionista Award at the 2013 Asian Model Awards.
