Early Training and Audition
Born in Incheon in 1989, Kim began formal dance training during elementary school, focusing on hip-hop, jazz, and Latin styles. The group Girls' Generation debuted on SBS's Inkigayo on August 5, 2007, performing the single Into the New World. Following their self-titled studio album, the group achieved commercial prominence with the 2009 EP Gee, which held the top position on KBS's Music Bank for nine weeks. By 2011, the group expanded into international markets, with their Japanese debut album topping the Oricon Albums Chart, making them the first foreign girl group to achieve this milestone.
Television and Solo Projects
Kim transitioned into diverse television roles, including a main cast position on Invincible Youth 2 and as a runner-up on the second season of Dancing with the Stars in 2012. She published the book Hyo Style in 2015 and hosted reality programs such as Hyoyeon's One Million Likes.
