Kevin-Prince Boateng

Kevin-Prince Boateng began his professional association football career in 2005, debuting for Hertha BSC at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin. Born in 1987 in West Berlin, he became a prominent midfielder who played across major European leagues, securing league titles in Italy and Spain while representing Ghana on the international stage during two FIFA World Cup tournaments.

Early Development and Bundesliga Beginnings

Born on 6 March 1987, Boateng was raised in the Wedding district of Berlin. He started his journey at Reinickendorfer Füchse in 1994 before moving to Hertha BSC. His progression through the youth system led to his promotion to the first team for the 2005–06 season. He received the Fritz Walter Bronze Medal in 2005 and the Gold Medal in 2006, both for his performance in youth categories.

European Transfers and English Stints

In 2007, Boateng signed a four-year contract with Tottenham Hotspur. His tenure in England included a loan spell at Borussia Dortmund in 2009, where he was suspended for a challenge on Makoto Hasebe. Later that year, he joined Portsmouth. During his sole season at Portsmouth, he appeared in 22 Premier League games and participated in the 2010 FA Cup Final against Chelsea, where he famously fouled Michael Ballack.

AC Milan Success and Activism

Boateng joined AC Milan in 2010, winning the Serie A title and Supercoppa Italiana in his first season. He scored a notable hat-trick against Lecce in 2011 after entering as a substitute. In January 2013, during a friendly match against Pro Patria, he initiated a team-wide walk-off following persistent racist chanting from the crowd, an action that drew significant support throughout the sport.

International Career and Later Clubs

Though he represented Germany at the youth level, Boateng committed his senior international career to Ghana. He earned 15 caps between 2010 and 2014, scoring twice and featuring in both the 2010 and 2014 World Cups. His extensive club career subsequently included spells at Schalke 04, Las Palmas, Eintracht Frankfurt, Sassuolo, Barcelona—where he earned a La Liga title—Fiorentina, Beşiktaş, and Monza.
