Kathryn Love Newton made her professional acting debut at age four as Colby Marian Chandler on the soap opera All My Children. Born on February 8, 1997, the Orlando native built a career spanning television and feature film, while maintaining a concurrent focus on competitive golf throughout her adolescent years at Notre Dame High School.
Early Television Work
Newton relocated to Los Angeles with her family at age twelve, a move that coincided with her casting as Louise Brooks in the CBS series Gary Unmarried, which aired from 2008 to 2010. This performance earned her two Young Artist Awards. Following this, she took on recurring roles in established series such as The CW's Supernatural, where she played Claire Novak, and AMC's period drama Halt and Catch Fire, portraying Joanie Clark.

Her transition into film included roles in Bad Teacher and the 2012 horror feature Paranormal Activity 4, for which she earned another Young Artist Award. Newton’s filmography expanded to include appearances in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, the video game adaptation Pokémon Detective Pikachu, and the 2021 film The Map of Tiny Perfect Things. In 2023, she joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Cassie Lang in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

Newton has appeared in several horror and comedy-horror projects, leading to her categorization as a scream queen. Her credits in this space include the 2020 film Freaky, 2024’s Lisa Frankenstein, and the vampire-themed horror film Abigail.
