Julio Iglesias (born 1943) is a Spanish singer and lawyer. Iglesias was born in Madrid on 23 September 1943.
Iglesias competed in association football as a goalkeeper. His career took in Real Madrid Castilla and Real Madrid Club de Fútbol. The output is classed under pop music, Latin pop and Latin ballad. He had begun working by 1968.
Iglesias was awarded Dearest Son of Madrid (2015), gold Medal of the Community of Madrid (2012), Favorite Latin Artist (1998), Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year (2001) and Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album (1988). He appeared at Eurovision Song Contest. He was nominated for Grammy Award for Best Latin Recording. He studied at Complutense University of Madrid (licentiate).
Iglesias was the son of Julio Iglesias, Sr. and María del Rosario de la Cueva y de Perignat. He married Isabel Preysler and Miranda Rynsburger. He had four recorded children, Enrique Iglesias, Julio Iglesias Jr., Chabeli Iglesias and Cristina Iglesias.
