Ivan Dorn debuted his solo musical path in 2010 following his departure from the group Para Normalnykh. Born in 1988 in Chelyabinsk, he eventually settled in Ukraine, where he pursued an extensive career as a singer, actor, and television host while navigating the complex cultural intersections between his home country and Russia through his art and public statements.
Early Career and Musical Beginnings
Born Ivan Aleksandrovich Yeryomin, he spent his early childhood in Slavutych. His formal training included piano studies and early involvement in acting festivals. After a brief period in a Moscow a cappella duo, he enrolled at the Kyiv National I. K. Karpenko-Kary Theatre, Cinema and Television University. In 2006, he co-founded the duo Para Normalnykh with Anna Dobrydneva, with whom he recorded two albums before transitioning to solo work.

Take the IQ test →Solo Breakthrough and Media Projects
Dorn released his debut solo album Co'N'Dorn in 2012, which secured him multiple YUNA awards. His television career expanded during this period, including hosting duties on the program Guten Morgen and serving as a judge on the fifth season of X Factor Ukraine in 2014. By 2016, he became a coach on The Voice Ukraine and founded his independent music label, Masterskaya, designed to support the local underground music scene.
Public Controversies and Geopolitical Stance
His professional activities in Russia following the 2014 annexation of Crimea sparked significant criticism in Ukraine. A 2017 interview with Yury Dud intensified these tensions, as he characterized the conflict in Donbas as a quarrel. In 2022, following the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he publicly condemned the aggression. Consequently, he was placed on a list of artists banned from performing in Russia, and his label restricted access to its catalog in both Russia and Belarus.
Transition to Dramatic Acting
Dorn began his transition into film with roles in various productions, culminating in his performance in Petrov's Flu. The film, directed by Kirill Serebrennikov, premiered at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival. Following this experience, he indicated a significant shift in focus toward his acting career, noting a deliberate approach to the craft and a desire to explore paradoxical characters.
