Gautami Tadimalla emerged as a significant presence in South Indian cinema during the late 1980s, securing her first credited screen role in the 1987 Telugu production Dayamayudu. Early Career and Cinematic Ascent
Born in Nidadavole in 1968 to parents T. R. Seshagiri Rao and Vasundhara Devi, Gautami received her education at the Bishop Cotton Girls' School and the Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management. Her entry into Tamil cinema with the 1988 film Guru Sishyan proved to be a major box-office success. Throughout the late 1980s and 1990s, she appeared in notable features including Apoorva Sagodharargal, Thevar Magan, and the critically recognized Iruvar. Her Malayalam filmography includes His Highness Abdullah and Sukrutham, while her Hindi screen appearances span projects such as Pyar Hua Chori Chori and Trimurti.

Beyond performing, Gautami shifted into technical roles, notably as a costume designer. She provided design work for prominent films including Dasavathaaram and Vishwaroopam. Her television career saw her hosting programs such as Anbudan and acting in serials like Indira and Abirami. In 2015, she returned to acting with a role in the film Papanasam, followed by a comeback to Malayalam cinema in the 2017 horror thriller E.
Public Service and Political Engagement
Gautami founded the Life Again Foundation, an organization focused on cancer support and motivational outreach. The foundation operates mobile hospitals, conducts health screening camps, and provides vocational training alongside supplementary education for underprivileged students. Her political trajectory involved long-term membership in the BJP starting in 1997. Following her resignation from the BJP in 2023, she joined the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam in 2024, subsequently serving as Deputy Propaganda Secretary.
