Gabriele Ponte, known professionally as Gabry Ponte, is an Italian disc jockey and music producer who gained global prominence as a founding member of the group Eiffel 65. Born in Turin in 1973, his career spans decades of dance music production, radio personality work, and live performance, establishing him as a persistent figure in the European electronic music landscape.
The Rise of Eiffel 65
Ponte formed the electronic music group Eiffel 65 in 1997 alongside collaborators Jeffrey Jey and Maurizio Lobina. The group achieved massive international commercial success with the release of their debut album, Europop, which sold approximately 4 million copies. Their signature track achieved worldwide chart dominance and surpassed 8 million in total sales. By 2000, the trio received the European Music Award for Best Italian Artist in the World.

In 2005, Ponte separated from Eiffel 65 to focus on his individual projects. A year later, he established the independent record label Dance and Love, which he continues to manage. His solo output during this era included the 2001 track Geordie, a cover version featuring vocalist Stefania Piovesan that achieved gold record status in Italy. He expanded his influence by producing the 2012 international hit Tacata' for the trio Tacabro.
Eurovision and International Recognition
Ponte entered the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs list in 2014, securing the 61st position as the highest-ranked Italian artist that year. He later represented San Marino in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 with the track Tutta l'Italia, qualifying for the grand final and finishing in 26th place. Additionally, he served as the disc jockey for the closing ceremony of the 2026 Winter Olympics, maintaining a rigorous touring schedule that included 90 shows across 11 countries in 2023.
