Early Development and Training
The son of ice hockey player Ted Irvine, he grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba, after his father retired from the New York Rangers. He attended Westwood Collegiate and graduated from Red River College Polytechnic in 1990 with a diploma in Creative Communications. His interest in professional wrestling began through local American Wrestling Association events. In 1990, he enrolled in the Hart Brothers School of Wrestling. He made his debut on October 2, 1990, in Ponoka, Alberta, performing as Cowboy Chris Jericho.
International Wrestling Career
Jericho built his reputation through stints in Canada, Japan, and Mexico. In 1991, he toured Japan with Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling. By 1992, he moved to Mexico, competing as Leon D'Oro and Corazón de León before joining Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre in 1993, where he held the NWA World Middleweight Championship for 11 months. During the 1990s, he also performed for Extreme Championship Wrestling and World Championship Wrestling.

In 1999, Jericho joined the World Wrestling Federation, later renamed WWE. In 2001, he defeated Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock on the same night to become the first Undisputed WWF Champion. His career includes record-setting runs, such as holding the WWE Intercontinental Championship nine times. He was the fourth Grand Slam Champion in history. In 2018, he departed WWE for New Japan Pro-Wrestling, where he became an IWGP Intercontinental Champion, followed by his 2019 entry into All Elite Wrestling as the inaugural AEW World Champion.
Musical and Media Endeavors
While early releases featured covers, the band shifted to original material starting with the 2005 album All That Remains. His television work includes competing on Dancing with the Stars in 2011 and hosting various programs, including the game show Downfall and the Revolver Golden Gods Awards.
