Throughout her career, Špotáková navigated shifts in training methodology, moving from the guidance of Rudolf Černý to Jan Železný in 2011, before reuniting with Černý in 2015. Her consistency was rewarded with five consecutive Czech Athlete of the Year titles between 2007 and 2011. Even after a hiatus for the birth of her son in 2013, she returned to win the 2014 European Championships in Zurich and claimed a bronze medal at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.
