Andy Jorman Polo Andrade, known professionally as La Joya, made his professional debut for Universitario de Deportes on 23 April 2011. At sixteen, he began demonstrating the rapid acceleration and technical scoring abilities that would define his career as a right winger across various international leagues and for the Peru national team.
Early Career at Universitario
Promoted to the first team under manager José del Solar, Polo debuted against Alianza Atletico at the Monumental. His first senior goal followed shortly after against Cienciano del Cuzco on 6 May 2011. During that breakthrough season, he served as a vital part of the under-20 squad that secured the inaugural 2011 U-20 Copa Libertadores, a tournament where he finished as the team's top scorer. His efforts throughout 2011 earned him the Jugador Revelación award for the Torneo Descentralizado.

In early 2012, Polo reached an agreement to join Serie A club Genoa, though administrative shifts delayed his move and eventually led to the annulment of the deal in 2013. By 2014, he signed with Inter Milan on a short-term contract, joining the club’s youth sector. He made nine appearances and scored two goals for the Italian side before moving to the Colombian club Millonarios later that year.
Development and Later Club Performance
Returning to Peru, Polo rejoined Universitario in 2015. Under manager Roberto Chale, he became a consistent presence in the starting eleven, contributing significantly to the team's 2016 Torneo Apertura victory. His career path later took him to Mexico, where he joined Monarcas Morelia in 2017, scoring twice in his first season. Beyond his club duties, his professional trajectory has included participation in the 2018 FIFA World Cup and the 2019 Copa América.
