His early tenure involved multiple loan spells to gain match fitness, including stints at Leganés, Real Valladolid, and Real Oviedo. He eventually made his competitive debut for Real Madrid in a 2021 Copa del Rey fixture against Alcoyano.
Ascent to European Prominence
Lunin gained international attention during the 2023–24 season while filling in for the injured Thibaut Courtois. His performance against RB Leipzig in the Champions League, where he recorded nine saves, matched a club record set by Courtois.
