Educational Background and Early Ambitions
Janukonis attended the Jonava Lietava comprehensive school, graduating from what was then known as the Jonava 3rd High School in 1988. His initial vocational interest lay outside of law, as he sought entry into a Marine School in Leningrad. This path was blocked due to his myopia. He subsequently enrolled at Vilnius University, completing his degree in the Law Faculty in 1993.

This entity served as the structural foundation for UAB ICOR, the organization he now leads as Chairman of the Board. Under his direction, the business expanded significantly, managing to reach a turnover of 558 million EUR by 2018. Beyond his primary role at ICOR, he holds the position of Supervisory Board Chairman at AB City Service.

Janukonis was raised in a family of engineers in his hometown of Jonava. He is married to Živilė Janukonienė, a sociologist who was also born in Jonava in 1971. The couple has two children, named Ignas and Vitas.
