Academic Foundation
Kechris completed his doctoral studies at the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1972. His dissertation, titled Projective Ordinals and Countable Analytical Sets, was written under the supervision of Yiannis N. Moschovakis. Following this, he spent two years as a C.L.E. Moore Instructor at MIT. In 1974, he joined the California Institute of Technology, where he has maintained his primary academic appointment for the duration of his professional life.
