Early Development in Fréjus
Born on 27 December 1985 in Bastia, Corsica, Rami grew up as the third of four children. His family relocated to the southern city of Fréjus, where he initially balanced amateur football with municipal work. He joined ES Fréjus at age nine and made his amateur debut during the 2003–04 season. Transitioning from midfield to defence due to a teammate's injury, he proved his capability over 30 appearances in the 2005–06 campaign, earning a trial at Lille.

Rami moved to Lille in 2006, initially playing for the reserve squad before Claude Puel promoted him to the senior team. He made his professional debut on 19 May 2007 against Auxerre. Despite a knee ligament injury disrupting his 2007–08 season, he became a consistent starter. By 2009, his performance in Ligue 1 and the UEFA Europa League drew interest from major European clubs, though he remained at Lille to help secure a league and cup double.
International and Club Success
Though eligible for Morocco, Rami chose to represent France, debuting on 11 August 2010 against Norway. His professional path included stints at Valencia, AC Milan, and Sevilla.
