Born in Bengaluru in 1998, Ashok transitioned from a highly successful amateur career to professional competition, becoming the first golfer from India to secure a Ladies European Tour victory.
Early Development and Amateur Success
Aditi Ashok began playing golf at age five after her parents, Ashok Gudlamani and Maheshwari, brought her to the Karnataka Golf Association driving range in Bengaluru. Her amateur trajectory featured consecutive National Junior Championship titles in 2012, 2013, and 2014. By 2014, she held both junior and senior titles simultaneously. Her international amateur record included competing at the 2013 Asian Youth Games, the 2014 Youth Olympics, and the 2014 Asian Games. She won the 2015 Ladies British Amateur Stroke Play Championship prior to graduating from The Frank Anthony Public School in 2016.

Ashok turned professional in January 2016. She immediately secured her Ladies European Tour card by winning the Lalla Aicha Tour School, becoming the youngest person to win a Q School for an international tour. Later that year, she became the first Indian to win a Ladies European Tour title at the Hero Women's Indian Open. She followed this with a victory at the Qatar Ladies Open, finishing second on the Order of Merit and earning Rookie of the Year honors. By the end of 2016, she also earned an LPGA Tour card through the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament.
Olympic and LPGA Career
At the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, Ashok competed as the youngest golfer in the field. Her performance evolved by the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where she finished just two strokes behind the gold medalist, Nelly Korda, with a score of 15-under par. On the LPGA Tour, she became the second Indian player after Simi Mehra. She recorded a career-best tied-sixth finish at the 2018 Volunteers of America LPGA Texas Classic and tied her career-low score of 64 at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship. In 2020, she received the Arjuna Award for her contributions to the sport.
